Overview

Committed to helping our clients achieve their commercial goals, Zamfirescu Racoti Vasile & Partners delivers high-quality advice and effective business solutions wherever competition and antitrust issues arise. Laws are rapidly evolving and companies face new risks and challenges in keeping up with the complex and changing rules.

This highly regulated environment creates a dangerous operating climate for businesses and requires sophisticated antitrust counsel, knowledge of local practices, and comprehensive expertise across the major antitrust disciplines of mergers, cartel, and conduct investigations, as well as litigation.
Our competition practice offers unrivalled expertise in national and EU competition law matters and counsel on the full scope of antitrust and competition law issues.

ZRVP has been advising us for many years, providing high-calibre advice on competition law matters directly affecting large industrial energy consumers. Over the past year, their assistance has been critical in shaping our positions on several legislative and regulatory initiatives in the energy sector with major implications for energy-intensive users.

(The Legal 500 | 2026)

The firm is a very good law firm, as it does meet the main criteria of assessment: reputation, capabilities, adaptability to changing circumstances, quality of staff and management. I think “business savvy” is a great way to describe this team.

(The Legal 500 | 2026)

The background experience and the varied legal fields of the team is a powerful partnership for our company. We value their ability to manage complex transactions and litigation and their solution-oriented counsel. ZRVP’s team also offers enhanced credibility.

Associates and partners alike demonstrate strategic thinking and a proactive attitude, often anticipating our needs.

Zamfirescu Racoți Vasile & Partners stand out for their deep expertise in competition law, especially within the energy sector. The team’s knowledge of both Romanian and European energy legislation is unmatched, making them the go-to advisors for our Association. Their ability to navigate complex legal landscapes and coordinate with multiple authorities, including the Competition Council, National Authority for Regulation in Energy, and the European Commission, has been critical in our projects. They bring a practical approach, focusing on delivering results efficiently, and their responsiveness is top-notch, ensuring that our needs are always met promptly.

(The Legal 500 | 2025)

ZRVP is our law firm for two decades already, so the main strength is common understanding of topics and dedication they show in any day to day or new situation.

(The Legal 500 | 2025)

Dedication to their profession and to the client; they treat any situation as it is referred to themselves and not to a third party.

(The Legal 500 | 2025)

As a client who has worked closely with the team for several years now, I can attest to their unparalleled commitment, extensive knowledge of competition and state-aid law, and unwavering dedication to achieving the best possible outcomes in every mandate.

(The Legal 500 | 2024)

We are lucky to have this team on our side and we couldn’t have hoped for a better one. What sets ZRVP apart from others in the field is their unique combination of strengths and capabilities: deep industry insight, a team you can rely on in every situation, people you can talk to, who explain, clarify, work with the client on the best legal strategy, expose potential risks and opportunities and steer you in the right direction. This is what makes a legal team an exceptional one.

(The Legal 500 | 2024)

The team at ZRVP is analytic, knowledgeable, and decisive when it comes to critical matters. I couldn’t be more pleased with Elena Iacob’s commitment to get things done and ability to understand our business needs. She is very analytical and precise as well as very commercially aware.

(The Legal 500 | 2024)

Very good knowledge about legal domain in Romania and surrounding countries, especially in the aviation sector.

(The Legal 500 | 2024)

We had a project in connection with RCC as a result of an acquisition. We were extremely satisfied of the dedication and realistic approach in preparing all documentation and participating to all interviews with the authority. Also, extremely fast in preparing documentation and thorough in follow ups.

(The Legal 500 | 2024)

Individuals participating to our project were intensely dedicated to the project, sharp, realistic, professional, behaving like they were part of our company’s team and not lawyers/consultants.
