The Free Legal Hotline “Lawyers on Duty” Stops Operating as Emergency State Comes to an End
Publication: ZRVP
As of tomorrow, May 15, 2020, the free service provided by ZRVP during the state of emergency stops operating and the hotline number 0374.00.22.22 will be inactive starting with this date.
Since March 20, when the hotline was launched, it has served as a phone-based counselling hotline and resource created to offer each citizen access to legal information in relation to different legal issues encountered in the context of coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
In the last two months, our team of lawyers have received hundreds of calls related to a variety of legal problems affecting personal and professional lives of fellow citizens, all derived from the current health crisis and lockdown measures. Most of the questions addressed referred to unemployment, limitation of citizens’ rights, attachments and enforcement procedures, bank loans, and family law matters such as divorce and children visitation rights.
The high call volume registered until May 14 is a proof that our initiative has been a necessary and useful help. We have been able to offer immediate, personalized legal guidance to the many people affected by the current crisis and provide easy access to the information and resources needed to make an informed decision about the legal issues they have been facing.
