Examples of our work in this area:
- Currently representing the biggest Romanian oil company in a controversial patent related dispute having as object a USD 10.5 billion claim for damages filed by the heir of a Romanian engineer and inventor for the alleged abusive exploitation, during the communist regime, of two patents related to the oil drilling industry;
- Successfully defending two giant pharma innovators in a complex damages’ claim for the recovery of alleged loss of profit following the obtaining of an injunction prohibiting the use of the competitor’s generic drugs, based on our clients’ later annulled patent;
- Assisting a well-known French software company following infringement of intellectual property rights via piracy of its famous multi-platform software for computer-aided design, manufacturing, engineering, PLM and 3D, including recovery of all incurred damages;
- Obtaining a milestone court decision following a trademark annulment request grounded on the preexistence of a commercial name protected by the Paris Convention for Protection of Industrial Property;
- Representing one of the four Romanian unions representing composers and musicologists’ interests, in two copyright infringement litigation cases initiated against the companies organizing musical events and/or producing and commercializing musical CD’s, DVD’s and disks for the recovery of the due musical stamp fee provided by the Romanian law as a percentage from the sale of any type of musical product.
